FOX SPORTS AND AYSO GROWING SOCCER IN THE US WITH NEW PARTNERSHIP

TORRANCE, Calif. – The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and FOX Sports announced a wide-ranging partnership today, making FOX Sports and its family of networks the premier sponsor of AYSO and presenting partner of AYSO’s 50th Anniversary.

The new partnership brings together the oldest and best-known national youth soccer organization in the U.S. with FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Soccer Plus, the FOX Sports Regional Networks, FOX Sports Radio and the Big Ten Network to further engage America’s young families in playing and watching soccer.

“We are thrilled to have FOX Sports as a premier partner of AYSO,” said Lynn Berling-Manuel, AYSO Chief Marketing Officer. “Their commitment to help engage young families with soccer as both participants and fans is an important statement to dedication to soccer in America at every level.”

Throughout the five-year deal, FOX Sports features AYSO initiatives across all its platforms through on-air promotions, public service announcements and in-program messaging. FOX Sports’ presence as a media sponsor is highlighted at marquee AYSO events including its 50th Anniversary, SoccerFEST and the AYSO National Games. AYSO’s 50th Anniversary is an official partner of FOX Sports Supports, FOX Sports’ charitable initiative in 2014.

“FOX Sports’ exciting partnership with AYSO expands on the great partnership FOX Soccer started with AYSO,” said Chris Hannan, FOX Sports Executive Vice President of Communications and Integration. “AYSO’s core principles for youth sports and its grassroots connection to families are a perfect fit with FOX Sports 1’s commitment to sports fans across America on all levels.”

FOX Sports 1, which launched in August 2013, hosts a wide variety of sporting events and programming, including soccer, NFL, MLB, college football and basketball, NASCAR and UFC. FOX Sports features a diverse selection of soccer broadcasts including the prestigious UEFA Champions League, England’s FA Cup competition, UEFA Europa League and CONCACAF Champions League. Beginning in 2015, FOX Sports is home to the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada, which kicks off the network’s exclusive rights to the next four FIFA World Cups, with the men’s events in 2018 and 2022 and the 2019 women’s tournament.

Since it was founded in 1964, more than six million children have played in an AYSO program, with over 500,000 players currently registered nationwide. Alumni include U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer and FOX Sports analyst Eric Wynalda as well as U.S. Women’s National Team forward Alex Morgan.

TIGERS’ PLAY-BY- PLAY ANNOUNCER MARIO IMPEMBA EXPANDS MILITARY VETERANS TICKET PROGRAM WITH DETROIT TIGERS

Veterans and Gold Star Pin families will get to enjoy a Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park as part of FOX Sports Supports and the Military Veteran’s Program (MVP) – Mario Impemba’s salute to those who served and the families impacted by the loss of a loved one in support of our nation. MVP opens the 2014 season on Monday, April 21, when the Detroit Tigers host the Chicago White Sox at 7:08 p.m.

MVP is a gift from FOX Sports Detroit play-by-play announcer Mario Impemba, in cooperation with the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities. The program runs every Monday home game through the 2014 season, including April 21, May 5, June 16, September 8 and September 22.

“It’s important to recognize the contributions made by our Veterans of all eras and to acknowledge the sacrifices made by military families,” said Impemba. “During our visits with Veterans and their families, I have learned that so many love the Tigers and baseball. This is a great way to give them an opportunity to enjoy a game together at the ballpark and let them know how much we appreciate their service and dedication to the Armed Forces.”

The program includes the opportunity to meet Impemba, a ticket to the game, transportation to the ball park via the FOX Sports Detroit Fan Express, a t-shirt, food voucher and autographed photo of Mario Impemba. Veterans who participate in the program are selected from local Veterans and military organizations.

Impemba also created Operation Opening Day to provide fans currently serving in the United States Armed Forces a DVD of the Tigers home opener for the last six years.

MVP, in conjunction with FOX Sports Supports, is part of the Detroit Tigers year-round support of troops and Veterans. Each year, the Detroit Tigers hold a special game to honor and recognize the sacrifice of the men and women serving in the United States Armed Forces and those that have served before them. Through the Detroit Tigers Armed Forces Game Ball Delivery program, the Detroit Tigers recognize an active service member who has recently returned from deployment or home on leave during a tour of duty prior to most home games. The Detroit Tigers also visit Veterans at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Detroit Medical Center throughout the season.

FOX SPORTS SUPPORTS PROUDLY TEAMS UP WITH BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA AND STAND UP TO CANCER

FOX Sports Pledges Two-Year Commitment to Both Charities; Recognizes Other Annual Initiatives

Los Angeles – FOX Sports Supports, FOX Sports’ charitable initiative is proud and excited to announce its partnerships with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Stand Up To Cancer through 2015. During this time, FOX Sports focuses its resources toward these two organizations in campaigns that span all FOX Sports assets and premier events beginning with the Daytona 500 this month.

In December, FOX Sports employees voted to select charities in the categories of Health & Wellness and Education, Human Services & Military. Among the lists of several very deserving organizations, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Stand Up To Cancer garnered the most support.

In the Education, Human Services & Military category, Boys & Girls Clubs of America are dedicated to enabling all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens through programs that teach leadership, education, health, sports and much more.

Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), representing the Health & Wellness category, is a groundbreaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research that gets new therapies to patients quickly in order to save lives now. SU2C brings together the best and brightest researchers and encourages collaboration instead of competition among the entire cancer community.

“For many years, the people of FOX Sports have demonstrated a deep commitment to bettering the lives of children in communities across America,” said Jim Clark, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “This partnership will help generate vital awareness and support for the work of Boys & Girls Clubs in creating great futures for those young people most in need.”

“Stand Up To Cancer is truly honored to have been selected to benefit from FOX Sports’ charitable efforts,” said co-founder Lisa Paulsen. “Each and every one of us can make a difference in the fight to save lives, and we are so grateful to FOX Sports’ employees and leadership for helping us get that message out to sports fans everywhere.”

FOX Sports Supports will also support several other initiatives throughout the year in 2014, including 21st Century Fox’s partnership with the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games which spans across all of its business units and includes airing programming from the 2014 USA Games on FOX Sports 1; AYSO’s monumental 50th anniversary; Movember’s month-long men’s health campaign; and a variety of military initiatives that began at Super Bowl XLVIII with the U.S. Army’s Gold Star Pins awareness campaign.

FOX Sports Supports has become the industry leader in raising awareness for worthwhile causes. In the last six years, it has supported 24 charities overall, from helping children with cancer to assisting military personnel and their families. Through public service announcements, verbal and graphic in-game and/or pregame mentions, FOX Sports has successfully raised awareness for worthy charities helping to generate millions of dollars in donations. In addition, the PSAs have received tens of millions of dollars’ worth of air time across all 21st Century Fox channels, helping to support causes such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, City of Hope, Malaria No More, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, STOMP Out Bullying, Feeding America and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
