"There have been so many incredible moments here at FOX Sports that have made me proud over the last 14 years, but this initiative ranks above all the rest," said David Hill, Chairman & CEO, FOX Sports Television Group. "To apply our resources to assist so many people in need gives everyone at FOX Sports an incredibly gratifying feeling."

FOX Sports Supports, established in 2007 by Hill and Bill Wanger, Senior Vice President of Research and Programming, FOX Sports, is an on-air charitable initiative devoted to raising awareness, providing financial assistance and spurring volunteerism for select health related charities through on-air mentions, Public Service Announcements (PSA) and compassionate involvement in order to improve the quality of life for millions in need.

Months of research go into determining a final list of worthwhile organizations from which to choose.  FOX Sports employees are then asked to vote privately to determine the inaugural FOX Sports Supports charities.

FOX Sports Supports designated the charities selected to one of its four broadcast properties (NASCAR, MLB, NFL and the Big Ten and Big Twelve championship games) in order to create “official charities” for each sport.  Each season new charities will be chosen by FOX Sports employees.

The 2011 FOX Sports Supports Charities are:

  • Association of Hole in the Wall Camps – NASCAR on FOX
  • Stand Up to Cancer – MLB on FOX
  • Armed Forces Foundation - NFL on FOX
  • Dream Foundation – Big Ten and Big Twelve Championship games

"Everyone at FOX Sports is committed to assisting these, and many other worthy causes in the years ahead and beyond," said Wanger.  "By combining the power of the FOX Sports brand with the three greatest sports in the world, we really believe we can help make a difference in a countless number of people’s lives."
